Chongqing tourism delegation visits MU
Twenty-nine government officials from Chongqing City, China arrived in Missouri on December 29.
The group, sent by Chongqing Tourism Bureau, visited MU for 6 days to investigate the tourism industry of the State of Missouri.
During the stay, the Chongqing delegation met with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources and learned how the State of Missouri promotes its tourism. MU professor, Dr. Mark Morgan, presented a lecture on American tourism development and management and related policies. In addition to their busy schedules, the Chinese officials participated in professional site visits as a supplement to their understanding of American tourism. The Chongqing delegation also had the opportunity to experience American culture by celebrating the New Year’s Day with Columbia friends.
