MU groups attend speech by head of the United Nations



A contingency from MU and the Asian Affairs Center joined a packed crowd to hear the head of the United Nations, Ban Ki-moon, from South Korea, deliver a speech in St. Louis. Mr. Ban noted that he wanted to come to Missouri because of its heartland status.
While in St. Louis, he met with leaders from area businesses. Secretary General Ban talked about global food security and hunger.



The group from MU included Prof. Roy Fox, Chair, Dept. of LTC (Learning, Teaching and Curriculum); Mr. Kangmo Lim, President, Mid-Missouri Chapter, United Nations Association of the USA; Mr. Joo Hyun Lee, master’s student in journalism; Ms. Hye Ji; Kim, master’s student in journalism, Dr. Mary Jo Herde, Asian Affairs Center Senior Coordinator and AAC Director, Sang Kim.
